Encore ESP Coffee Grinder - Black

The Encore ESP in black is for the espresso drinker who's outgrown a blade grinder or an entry-level burr but isn't ready to commit $700+ to a single-purpose espresso grinder. The matte black housing sits cleanly next to most stainless or black espresso machines and doesn't shout for attention.

Why it works

• Espresso range that's actually usable. The Encore ESP gives you 20 fine micro steps for espresso plus 20 macro steps for everything else, so you can dial in a shot in the morning and switch to filter or French press without juggling grinders.
• Same 40mm conical burr, retuned. Baratza kept the M2 hardened-steel conical burr that made the Encore famous and refined the geometry for tighter espresso particles, which is the part most home espresso grinders under $300 don't get right.
• Tool-less burr access. Pull the hopper, lift the top burr, brush out chaff in a couple of minutes. No screwdriver, no service appointment.
• Dosing cup with a 58mm portafilter adapter. Catches grounds cleanly into a 54mm cup that snaps a 58mm portafilter on top, so the kitchen stays manageable.

Setup and care notes

Run a small batch through after dialing in a new bag, since espresso settings sit close together and the previous coffee will color the first shot. Brush out the burrs every couple of weeks for espresso use, less often for filter only.

Who it's for, who it isn't

Right for anyone running a single-boiler or Bambino-class espresso machine who also brews filter coffee and doesn't want two grinders on the counter. Not the right pick if you're committed to espresso only and chasing a sub-second timed dose, in which case a stepless grinder makes more sense.
