How This Started

I fell in love with coffee the way most people do — slowly, then all at once. What started as a casual interest turned into something I wanted to learn more about. So I did what anyone does: I started researching. I watched videos. I joined forums. I asked questions.

And pretty quickly, I felt like I didn't belong.

The coffee world can be intimidating. There's an unspoken culture that makes you feel like you're doing it wrong if you're not using the right grinder, the right beans, the right water temperature, the right ratio. Ask a simple question and you'll get ten different answers, most of them delivered with the kind of confidence that makes you wonder if you're the only person who doesn't already know this stuff.

I felt inadequate. Like I needed a degree in coffee before I was allowed to enjoy it.

And I know I'm not the only one. I've talked to hundreds of people who felt the same way — people who wanted to make better coffee at home but were put off by the complexity, the jargon, and the quiet judgment that comes with not knowing the “right” way to do things.

That feeling is what inspired The Coffee Machine.

What We're About

This site exists for one reason: to help you make coffee you love, in the way that works for you.

That means honest, practical guidance — not opinions disguised as rules. If a $200 machine makes you happy, we're not going to tell you that you need to spend $1,000. If you like dark roast with cream, we're not going to lecture you about single-origin light roasts. If you want a super-automatic that does everything at the push of a button, we're not going to make you feel like you're doing espresso wrong.

What We Bring to the Table

Behind The Coffee Machine is 16 years of hands-on e-commerce experience. Before coffee, I spent over a decade and a half building and managing a multi-million dollar online retail operation in the optics industry — working with distributors worldwide, managing thousands of products, and learning what it takes to run a business that puts the customer first.

I'm bringing that same operational expertise and customer-first mindset to the coffee world. When we recommend a product, it's because we believe in it — not because someone paid us to say it. When we write a guide, it's because we've done the research and want to save you the time and confusion we went through ourselves.
