Vario+ Coffee Grinder - White

The Vario+ in white is Baratza's flat-burr workhorse, sized for the home brewer who's serious about both espresso and filter coffee but doesn't want two grinders on the counter. The clean white finish pairs naturally with the Ascaso DUO PLUS or any of the white-cased home espresso machines we carry.

Why it works

• 54mm flat ceramic burrs. Flat geometry pushes particle distribution tighter than a conical burr, and ceramic stays sharp longer than steel under heavy use. The result is cleaner extraction on filter coffee and a more forgiving espresso dial-in.
• 220 grind settings. 10 macro positions on the side rail, 22 micro positions on the front, which translates to real, audible jumps between settings rather than a vague stepless dial.
• Three programmable timer presets. Set espresso, filter, and French press once, hit a button, walk away. Dosing repeatability without adding a scale to the workflow.
• Integrated PortaHolder. The cradle on the front holds a 58mm portafilter under the spout cleanly. No third-party adapter, no chasing grounds across the counter.

Setup and care notes

Set your espresso preset first, since espresso lives in the tightest part of the range and rewards a few minutes of dial-in. Brush the burr chamber every couple of weeks for espresso use. Ceramic burrs typically run 1,500+ lbs before noticeable wear.

Who it's for, who it isn't

Right for the home brewer who wants one grinder for both espresso and filter, with timer-based dosing and a serious step up in particle quality. Not the right pick if you want grind-by-weight precision out of the box, in which case the Vario W+ is the answer for the same chassis.
